Hotel Shanker is a palace built at the turn of the century by Rana Maharaja with a penchant for French architecture, international cuisine and Eastern hospitality. It was converted into a hotel in 1964. The facade and traditions were kept intact but the interior was redesigned to give travellers the kind of comfort they expect of a world-class hotel.

From Tia Airport turn left to the Ringroad from airport exit gate. Go straight and you will see 1st stop light at Tinkune. Turn right and drive straight you will pass convention centre and stop light, drive straight till you see Maitighar Junction turn right and drive straight to the main gate of Singha Durbar Secretariat. Turn left and drive to crossroads of G.P.O, turn right. And drive straight till you see another stop light at Ramshah Path and drive past west gate of royal palace to Lazimpat. Turn right from Shanker Travels to the hotel.
